Background
"Thank You, Melo" is a campaign concept that honors Carmelo Anthony's illustrious NBA career. Carmelo Anthony spent 19 years as one of the league's most prolific scorers, amassing over 28,000 points and ranking 9th on the NBA's all-time scoring list. My goal was to express my appreciation to Carmelo by creating a series of posters and graphics that commemorate his retirement.

The Process
Logo
This project had a really interesting start. I working on a font pairing exercise when I received the news that Carmelo was retiring from the NBA. This sparked an idea to create a farewell campaign to celebrate his career and accolades. I instantly fell in love with the pairing of “Vivaldi” and “Space Mono”. Although this may seem like an unconventional pairing, the two typefaces complement each other with Vivaldi’s elegant swashes represents “celebratory” while Space Mono’s fixed width gives off a sporty look.
Color Palette
Initially, I was having trouble finding a color palette that would work well for the project so I decided to simply just use primary colors, Red, Yellow, & Blue.
Poster Design
After finishing the logo, I wanted to test out this branding on a few posters. The idea for this design was creating a street poster with the logo repeated. Pairing it with a Xerox photo of Carmelo throughout his career with his accolades listed.
